Studying at Turku and at Turku University of Applied Sciences is an experience of living, learning and growing. Studies are an avenue to a new profession, to life-long learning and to life in general!
Turku itself is a vibrant city for students,
there are seven Higher Education Institutions
and nearly 40 000 students in a city with
175 000 inhabitants! Turku has excellent
student accommodation and its compact
size gives easy access to the versatile city life.
Here at TUAS we have high aims for getting international and our English Degree Programmes
stand out as one opportunity. We emphasize practical orientation in studies and offer
project-based-learning opportunities in our multidisciplinary faculties. Our graduating
young professionals have the ability to work as active developers in their work. Study projects reflect the r&d-skills that we hold important here at TUAS. Once you enter the institution as students you’ll also encounter many other opportunities for continuing your internationalization and for familiarizing yourself with Finnish society. For example, we offer students over two hundred partner schools globally for exchange periods and receive around 200 exchange students yearly that strengthen the multicultural atmosphere! You can also find study courses that focus on introducing Finnish culture and society to our international students and courses that encourage all our students to intercultural issues and communication. Practical training periods in Finland-based companies will offer you an opportunity to enter work-life.
Turku has a multicultural background of its own, there’s a visible and audible bilingual Finnish – Swedish tradition that gives an enriching twist to the local life! Nowadays you could even call the city trilingual – besides Finnish and Swedish languages you can hear English spoken widely.
